HEIC decoder

Opening HEIC photos in browsers that cannot do it natively uses libheif-js 1.23.2, an unmodified WebAssembly build of libheif (with libde265 for HEVC), licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License, version 3. It loads only when you add a HEIC file.

• The decoder is delivered as two replaceable files: libheif.wasm and heic-worker.js (the unmodified libheif-js script followed by a short wrapper that is part of this site).
• Licence texts: libheif-js and libheif.
• Source code: libheif-js, libheif and libde265.

You may replace these files with your own build of the same library. The rest of this site does not link against it.
